🎉🐾 RVT Appreciation Spotlight: Sindy! 🐾🎉

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Sindy, one of our amazing Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT)! 🌟

Sindy’s journey into veterinary medicine began at Douglas College, where she first studied to become a Veterinary Office Assistant. After three years of working as a receptionist, learning the ins and outs of clinic life, her passion for animals led her back to Douglas College to pursue her dream of becoming a Vet Tech. In August of last year, Sindy proudly earned her title as an RVT, and we couldn't be more proud of her!

Sindy’s love for animals doesn’t stop at work—she even has a rescue pigeon named Glare Glare 🕊️. When she’s not taking exceptional care of our furry (and feathered!) friends, Sindy enjoys getting creative with crafting, diving into the world of video and board games, and hitting the court to play some volleyball! 🏐✨

Thank you, Sindy, for your dedication, passion, and love for animals. Your hard work and positive spirit make a world of difference to our team and every pet you care for. 💙🐶🐱

Let’s all give Sindy a round of applause for being an incredible RVT and an all-around wonderful person! 👏👏👏

- - - - - Pet of The Month - Seeing Double 🍁🍂🌞

Don't worry we're still here!
The past few months have been slightly chaotic here at VVH, so we've got BOTH August and September's Pet of the Month this time! Double the cuteness we say!

Please let me introduce you all to Casper and Prince. These handsome creatures have been unanimously nominated by almost EVERY SINGLE staff member and doctor here at VVH. (They both have been nominated a few times and never won too)

Let's start with Prince. Prince is a 9 year old, DSH with a heart of gold. He is one of the sweetest boys that has come through our door. Even though as of late, we've had to see Prince a bit more frequently than most due to a recurring skin issue and a recent Feline Diabetes diagnosis, our Prince is NEVER one to be dismayed by us.

With his most recent diagnosis of Feline Diabetes this entails his PAWrent to be very diligent in making sure he gets his insulin and obtaining regular Blood Glucose Curves. Which he does! We get weekly updates and pictures which we LOVE.
We love our Prince, and enjoy seeing him and his PAWrent regardless of frequency to our clinic. It always puts a smile on our faces.

Next up is Casper. Casper is a 8.5 year old Pomeranian. Who undoubtedly, as you all can tell, is quite the cutie pie. He is loved by many including multiple staff members due to his easy, friendly demeanor in the hospital. He takes everything we throw at him with ease and happiness. Casper visits us for regular annual health examinations and receives regular radiographs as Casper has a Collapsed Trachea. This condition is common in most small-breed dogs like Chihuahuas, Yorkies, and Pomeranians.

We hope that BOTH these boys enjoy their gifts, we send their families endless love and gratitude for continuing to choose VVH as their veterinary family.

😲🏥Case of the week🩺😷🧪

Eeyo, one of Dr. Assaf Goldberg's furry companions, recently came in for his Annual Healthy checkup. All seemed normal during his exam, and vaccines were done. Dr. Goldberg decided to perform Wellness Bloodwork as preventaive care. It was all good... until the results came back 😨

We'd like to introduce ya'll to July's Pet of the Month.
Meet Walter 🐶

Walter is a Black Labrador Retriever, who just had his 10th birthday!

As many of you know labradors tend to have this goofy energy and a love for food. Walter is the EPITOME of such and much more. This majestic, goofy boy loves to swim, and gallivant around the trails with his parents, and he'll do just about anything for food. (Even during his exams)

Walter was recently in for his Annual Health Examination and received an update on both his Bordetella and Leptospirosis vaccinations. Diagnosis: BEST BOY

On occasion, Walter does have a history of getting both Otitis Externa and Hot Spots, which can be very common with Labs, especially those who LOVE to swim just as much as Walter does. He was recently diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, which is a common disease in most dog breeds and senior pets.

A gift is awaiting Walter from all of us here at VVH. We hope he enjoys it as much as we enjoy every time he comes in for a visit.

Please allow us to introduce June's winner by unanimous nomination for Pet of the Month.

Meet Tommy!
Tommy is a ~11-year-old Domestic Medium Hair, who first came to us in 2022.

Tommy was a senior rescue and to NO fault of his own was adopted with a few previous and present concerns. Regardless of his condition, his new PAWrent was willing to give this charming boy the best home he could ask for, and she did just that.

Before Tommy had been adopted he had his right eye removed due to an infection that wasn't being treated. He had also been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, A heart murmur, Glaucoma in his left eye, and a few FORLS ( Tooth Resorption ). Unfortunately, due to further infection and issues persisting with his left eye, he had to have his left eye removed.

If you think that has stopped him, you're wrong. He is spunky, and playful, with an excessively loud purr. He loves his life with his PAWrent and loves everyone he meets. He gives us warmth and happiness in the clinic, with a purr more audible than a motorcycle engine, and of corse endless head boops.

He has been nominated EVERY month for Pet of The Month and unanimously chosen for June by almost EVERYONE at VVH.
